The Imagine Jasper Avenue Project will improve pedestrian safety and create a vibrant streetscape through wider sidewalks, streetscaping, improved lighting and full roadway reconstruction.

Project Update - September 2025

Construction on Phase 2 of Imagine Jasper Avenue is underway and includes Jasper Avenue between 114 Street and 124 Street.

Imagine Jasper includes 2 lanes of motor vehicle traffic in each direction, shorter pedestrian crossing distances at each street along Jasper Avenue, wider sidewalks, landscaping, benches and bike racks. 

The design is similar to what was recently constructed on Jasper Avenue between 109 Street and 114 Street.

Phase 2 construction is anticipated to be completed over three years:

  • Year 1 (2025) - 114 Street to 117 Street
  • Year 2 (2026) - 117 Street to 121 Street
  • Year 3 (2027) - 121 Street to 124 Street

Construction will be paused during the winter months to minimize traffic disruptions.

Project Goal and Highlights

The goal of Imagine Jasper Avenue and Jasper Avenue New Vision is to restore and elevate the avenue, giving it a consistent look and feel, highlighting the downtown core and providing a safe and enhanced experience for those who walk, bike, drive or use transit. Ultimately, the changes will support area businesses and attract visitors.

Highlights of both sections of Jasper Avenue include wider sidewalks, enhanced street furniture and plantings, new street and pedestrian lighting and full roadway reconstruction including the addition of some continuous crossings.
