About the Project
Southwest Edmonton is growing and an additional City of Edmonton (City) operations service site is needed in the area to support service delivery to meet current and future needs. The Ambleside Integrated Site - Phase 1 Project will be an 11.70-hectare operations service site, located at 14320 Ellerslie Road SW.
Phase 1 of the Ambleside Integrated Site will support the City of Edmonton’s Parks and Roads Services and Fleet and Facility Services branches. It will house operations, maintenance, administrative and staff support facilities, as well as an operations yard with bulk storage, fleet vehicle parking and a sand and salt storage facility.
Phase 1 has been designed as a large, open space with all permanent infrastructure located along the perimeter. This design allows for the site’s temporary infrastructure to shift around the site as user groups and their requirements change.
Aligning with certain elements of the City of Edmonton’s Climate Resilience Policy (C627), Phase 1 is anticipated to achieve a minimum Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification. The main site building will have rooftop solar photovoltaic panels.
Once complete, snow clearing, road maintenance, parks maintenance, facility repairs and other general services will take place from the site. Southwest Edmonton residents can anticipate an improvement in service levels and response times once City of Edmonton crews begin operations from the Ambleside Integrated Site. This location change is expected to result in a yearly productivity gain of 14,000 hours.
The two-phase Ambleside Integrated Site: Integrated Program and Master Plan (16.31 MB) guides the planning, design and delivery of the Ambleside Integrated Site - Phase 1 Project. Phase 2 of the Master Plan is currently unfunded.
