The Reuse Centre runs events promoting reuse and waste reduction throughout the year. Join us for an upcoming DIY Thursday or Swap Event.

DIY Thursday Workshops

DIY Thursdays are free workshops featuring local experts that focus on building skills to help you reduce waste! Past DIY Thursdays have included: Bike repair workshops, gardening workshops and sewing.

Time/Duration: 6-8pm (2hrs)

October 16	Introduction to Peyote Seed Stitch Practice sewing and beading techniques with used materials.
October 23	Halloween Costume Creation Use clothes you have on hand to get ready for Halloween.
October 30	Trick or Treat Learn how to make a Halloween lantern, and take part in a spooky trick or treat around the Reuse Centre.
November 6	Crocheted Ornaments Create a beautiful decoration out of scrap yarn and used ornaments.
November 13	Bike Repair and Winterization Learn from Sport Central on how to keep your bike tuned up and ready for winter.
November 20	Reusable Gift Bags Cut down your holiday waste by making reusable gift bags.
November 27	Scrap Fabric Ornament Create the perfect holiday decoration out of used materials.
December 4	Finger Knitting Make a potholder using finger knitting techniques.

We call you an expert, but if you have a passion for sharing your waste reduction skills, please sign up for one of our available slots.

Reuse Centre Swap Events

Swap events focus on specific types of items, such as books, movies, and toys. Residents can trade items with each other at no charge in a fun and safe environment.

Rather than throwing them away, or letting them collect dust on the shelf, you can give them a second life and find something new for yourself! Bring up to five items to trade, free of charge.

The Reuse Centre will still be open for regular business during the swap, so you are welcome to drop off any donations you may have while you're here.
