Waste management services, programs, locations and fees. Information about garbage, recycling and waste reduction.

With residents’ help, Edmonton’s integrated and sustainable waste management system has a goal of diverting 90% of residential waste from landfill.

Not sure what goes in the recycling, garbage or dropped at an Eco Station? Take the guesswork out of sorting your waste by using the WasteWise tool. Search your collection day, set up a collection reminder and play a fun family game.

Our four Eco Stations accept batteries and other household hazardous waste and electronics for free.

Household items that can’t be set out for regular waste collection can be brought to a Big Bin Event.

Public opportunities to provide input on potential changes to Edmonton's waste system ended on April 15, 2019. Thank you to the many Edmontonians who shared their thoughts with us.

Garbage and recycling is collected weekly on the same day of the week year-round.
