Closure Notice

William Hawrelak Park closed on March 13, 2023 for rehabilitation work. The park is expected to reopen in early 2026.

Trail access will be maintained around the perimeter of the park, however the trails cannot be accessed from within Hawrelak Park.

The Edmonton Heritage Festival, Freewill Shakespeare Festival, Edmonton Symphony Orchestra’s outdoor concert series, and the Silver Skate Festival have been temporarily relocated while William Hawrelak Park undergoes refurbishment work.

Throughout construction, the river valley trail system around the park's perimeter will be open for users to safely enjoy the river valley trail system. Occasionally, short-term detours of trails may be necessary. Check out Trail and Park Cautions and Closures for trail closure information.

Other amenities, including parking lots and washroom facilities are not available during construction.
