Construction Update - April 2026
It’s the second year of Hillview Neighbourhood and Renewal, and we are scheduled to start in May 2026! Work will consist of reconstruction and paving of the roads, removal and replacement of public sidewalks, curbs, gutters and street lighting. This year, the majority of construction will take place from 60 Street to 65 Street and 35 Avenue to 38 Avenue.

Alley renewal was completed in 2025. This year’s work also includes reconstruction at some alley tie-in locations to connect last year’s alley work with this year’s road and sidewalk work.

For those who live in the 2026 construction area (specifically from 60 Street to 65 Street and 35 Avenue to 38 Avenue), the landscaping work is scheduled to start at the same time as this year’s construction. Landscaping work is highly dependent on weather and sod availability.
The City of Edmonton and EPCOR are working together to construct Low Impact Development, which will help with stormwater retention and help mitigate flooding.
Please watch your mailbox for construction bulletins that will provide more information along with details on landscaping and access. All residents and business owners are asked to access their homes and businesses through the back entrances and alleys, where possible, during construction. If no alley access is available and/or you have special access requirements (such as DATS or a temporary access ramp to the front of your home), please contact the Construction Project Manager, Sharad Dhakal, 780-496-4055, to coordinate.
