Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park, more commonly known as Laurier Park, is located in Edmonton's west end. Situated on the north bank of the river, the park extends from Whitemud Drive in the west to Buena Vista Drive in the east. The park is named after Canada’s seventh Prime Minister, Sir Wilfrid Laurier. Numerous picnic sites, 2 natural playgrounds and a boat launch are just a few of the amenities for users to enjoy.
Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park is a cherished year-round destination for families and river enthusiasts. It is perfectly situated along the winding shores of the River Valley. It's much more than just a large green space. The park offers opportunities for paddling and river access in the summer. It is also a scenic hub for winter walking and skating when the snow falls. The amenity building at Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park provides an accessible washroom that is open year-round for all visitors. This convenient facility also includes a water fountain with a bottle refill station.

After each snowfall, staff will prioritize snow and ice removal for your safety and comfort. This includes clearing primary pathways, accessible parking areas, and key facility routes.
Learn more about standard snow-clearing service. Please use caution, especially near spots where the trail meets the ice surface and along ramps. If you experience access problems, please call 311 to report your concerns.

Parking
Standard parking includes paved areas along the park road and two gravel lots. Accessible stalls are located on concrete pads.
Accessible parking in the gravel lot will be unavailable during winter 2025.
Transit

Cycling
Bike racks are available onsite for secure lock-up.
Paved Trail Network
Paved trails link the accessible parking area directly to the amenity building and primary trail network. Gravel lot parking is not directly connected to the paved trail network.
Amenity Building
The amenity building entrances are accessible with door openers. Washrooms are universal, with an accessible washroom stall available. A water fountain with a bottle refill station is available.
Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park has 9 picnic sites available for reservation during the summer, including 2 picnic sites available for reservation in the winter. There are also 31 tables available for drop-in use.
