Completed work (January to July 2025):
Valley Line West is a 14-kilometre LRT extension from downtown to Lewis Farms, and the second stage of the Valley Line. This extension will include 14 stops and two stations. In 2025, Marigold Infrastructure Partners (MIP), the company building Valley Line West, is focused on an accelerated roadwork plan. The goal of the three-phased plan is to complete the majority of roadwork in 2025, and get many of the roads into their final configuration. Most notably, this work has included:
- Stony Plain Road at 124 Street - full closure for seven weeks (intersection reopened June 11)
- Stony Plain Road at 156 Street - partial closure for 12 weeks (intersection reopened July 10)
- 87 Avenue at Meadowlark Road - partial closure for 10 weeks (intersection reopened July 9)
- 104 Avenue between 105 and 121 Street - reduced to one lane in each direction (ongoing until end of November)
- Stony Plain Road at 142 Street - partial closure for nine weeks (started in early June, until mid-August)

Hyundai Rotem Company is supplying 46 low-floor light rail vehicles (LRVs) for Valley Line, which will be compatible along the entire Valley Line alignment. Manufacturing of the first LRV began in 2024. The first LRV arrived in Edmonton in summer 2025, following months of testing in South Korea. The remainder of the fleet is in various stages of assembly and testing.
