Planning and design is currently underway for the replacement of the historic trestle bridge, located within Mill Creek Ravine along 76 Avenue.
The bridge was originally constructed in 1902. The Mill Creek Trestle Bridge structure was part of an early rail connection between the towns of Strathcona and Edmonton and remains a valuable part of the Edmonton River Valley trail system.
Given the current condition of the structure, it is recommended that the bridge be replaced.
In addition to the bridge replacement, the project will explore upgrades to the culvert under 76 Avenue and soil erosion issues nearby the existing bridge.
