Three roadways in the Balwin and Belvedere neighbourhoods have been selected for revitalization.

Project Update - September 2025

The project is progressing on schedule and is expected to be completed fall 2025.

All concrete curb ramps and missing sidewalk links have been completed. Work is currently focused at 128 Avenue and 66 Street to complete the new curb extensions and drainage work. This section of work is expected to be completed mid-September with the paving operations to start immediately after.

Speed humps around Zoie Gardner Park are included in the paving operations and will be installed in the latter half of September along with all other restoration areas including the remaining curb ramps.

Landscaping of the pocket park on 127 Avenue and 72 Street is ongoing. Earthwork to shape the berms has been completed with tree/shrub planting expected to start mid-September. Restorations around the curb ramps and sidewalk areas will be taking place at the same time and expected to be completed by the end of September.

The new sidewalk on 127 Avenue and 82 Street in front of McDonalds is complete and the turning lane reopened. Access into Plaza 82 from the main entrance on 127 Avenue has been restored and is open for use.

Please note: the 127 Avenue/82 Street turning lane will be closed in the last half of September in order to complete the asphalt and landscape restorations along Plaza 82. The lane closure is expected to last for two to three days to complete the remaining work.

About the Project

The roadway projects along three locations will explore opportunities for temporary traffic calming, permanent landscaping, crosswalks and pedestrian lighting.

  • 127 Avenue between 66 Street and 82 Street
  • 128 Avenue between 66 Street and 81 Street
  • 66 Street between 128 Avenue and 130 Avenue

An entry feature is also part of the project. The location and the design of the entry feature will be determined through public engagement, technical considerations and City policies and plans.

We’re moving forward with the Balwin and Belvedere Transportation revitalization. This project is funded for design and construction.
