The Housing Accelerator Fund is a federal government program designed to help local governments create transformational change that will increase housing supply.

The City of Edmonton was initially awarded $175 million to implement its Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF) Action Plan between 2024 and 2026.

On March 22, 2025, the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation announced that Edmonton would receive an additional $17 million for two new actions, bringing the City’s total allocation to $192 million.

The HAF Action Plan will help the City deliver more than 5,700 new homes over-and-above what would typically be expected. A total of nearly 36,000 new homes will be permitted across Edmonton by 2026.

NoteIndividuals and businesses cannot apply directly for the Housing Accelerator Fund.
