There will be no Valley Line Southeast service on Sunday September 21, 2025.
LRT bus replacement service will be available between Mill Woods and downtown Edmonton from 5am on September 21 until 12:45am on September 22. Buses will run every 15 minutes from start of service until noon, every 10 minutes from noon to 7pm, and every 15 minutes from approximately 7pm until end of service.

From 11:30 p.m. to end of service nightly on September 22, 23 and 24, Metro Line trains will only run between NAIT/Blatchford Market and Government Centre LRT station during this time.
This change is to accommodate repair work on Menzies Bridge. Capital Line service is unaffected.
Between September 15 and October 27 the sidewalk on the north side of 129 Avenue at Belvedere LRT crossing will be closed to accommodate construction of a new sidewalk and replacement of crossing arms. During this time riders can use the sidewalk on the south side of 129 Avenue or walk through Belvedere LRT station to get across the tracks in this area.
From April 27 to late-September, crews will be conducting rehabilitation work on the Coliseum LRT bridge to ensure its continued safety and accessibility to the public. During this time:

This is not a permanent change to the Metro Line schedule. After the bridge work is complete, Metro Line will resume regular service to only run between NAIT/Blatchford Market and Health Sciences/Jubilee stations at all times during the day. Valley Line Southeast will not be affected by this work.
Valley Line Southeast will not be providing train service on Sunday September 21, 2025 to allow TransEd to complete maintenance, repairs and other work.

From July 28 to mid-December, the southbound lane on the Low Level Bridge will be closed due to rehabilitation work. During this time, buses heading northbound towards downtown will be on long-term detour, while buses heading southbound will not be affected by this work.
Route 8 (Abbottsfield)
Instead of crossing the bridge, Route 8 northbound will turn onto James MacDonald Bridge, turn right onto Rossdale Road and then continue north on Bellamy Hill Road. It will continue straight, turn left onto Jasper Avenue and then return to its original routing.

Route 500X (Grant MacEwan University)
Instead of crossing the bridge, Route 500X northbound will turn onto James MacDonald Bridge, turn right onto Rossdale Road and then continue north on Bellamy Hill Road. It will continue straight down 101 Street, turn left onto 103A Avenue and then return to its original routing.

Starting July 22, Bus Stop #99013 (Heritage Valley Trail & Chappelle Road southwest) will be temporarily closed until summer 2026.
This is due to work being done to widen the road on the east side of Heritage Valley Trail from 41 Avenue southwest to 141 Street southwest.

To accommodate drainage work in Duggan, this bus stop, located at 106 Street and 36A Avenue NB, will be closed.

During this time, bus stop #4224 (23 Avenue and 111 Street) will also be relocated 30 meters west of its current location.
From September 15-25, Routes 55, 56 and 703 will be on detour nightly from 9pm to 6am as the ramps on 53 Avenue and Whitemud Drive are closed as part of Phase II of the Terwillegar Freeway Expansion Project. Routes 682 & 724 will not operate during the closure period.

Route 501 will be on detour until mid-September due to road closures at the intersection of Ottewell Road and 94B Avenue. During this time, Route 501 will detour using Ottewell Road, 90 Avenue and 50 Street in both directions.

Summer Streets
Northbound bus stops on 104 Street between 76 Avenue and Saskatchewan Drive will be closed from May until early-November 2025 due to the Summer Streets Program.
During this time, northbound Route 701 and 726 buses will use temporary stops located on 83 Avenue/Gateway Boulevard northbound and Tommy Banks Way/Gateway Boulevard northbound.

As part of the Gariepy Neighbourhood and Alley Renewal Project, crews will be reconstructing the main corridor of 57 Avenue and 172 Street. This section of the road, which provides access for regular ETS buses into the neighbourhood, is anticipated to be closed for construction in July and August 2025.
As regular ETS buses will not be able to safely enter and exit the Gariepy neighbourhood during construction, ETS will temporarily adjust service for residents so they can continue to access transit service.
Temporary bus stops will be placed at the entrance of the neighbourhood to allow residents to continue using regular service.
Renewal work on 132 Avenue continues in 2025. This year, the majority of construction will take place from 113A Street to 122 Street (West) and from 68 Street to 82 Street (East) in two separate construction areas. Construction will begin in early April and run until late fall 2025.

As part of the Baturyn Neighborhood and Alley Renewal Project, crews will be reconstructing the main corridor of 100 Street, 172 Avenue, and 109 Street. Construction is anticipated to begin on April 27 and will last until the end of October 2025.
During this time, ETS will not be able to get traditional buses into the neighbourhood so an On Demand Transit area will be added to the northern part and conventional bus service detour will be added to the southern part of the Baturyn neighbourhood.

Starting April 27, the neighbourhoods of Keswick and Glenridding will be moving to a hybrid transit model that uses both conventional and On Demand Transit service. Route 729, a brand new route, will provide weekday service to the Keswick and Glenridding neighbourhoods and give riders more consistent connection to Leger and Century Park transit centres.
Route 729 will operate during morning peak, midday, afternoon peak and evenings, Monday to Friday. Frequency of service will be every 20 minutes during peak hours and every 30 minutes during the midday and evenings.
On Demand Transit service will continue to be available in both neighbourhoods on Saturdays and Sundays. ETS will continue to provide residents living in the Keswick on the River community On Demand Transit service through the full week.
From July 30 to mid-September, Route 7 will detour to 163 Street and 100 Avenue due to the partial closure of the intersection at 156 Street and 95 Avenue for LRT Construction. This partial closure will not accommodate any north-south and east-west through traffic with limited turn movement capacity remaining.
A temporary On Demand Transit (ODT) zone has been created to mitigate the impacts of the change with a new On Demand Hub at 149 Street and 100 Avenue to facilitate transfers to the detoured Route 7.

Starting the week of September 15, work will begin to replace the Wellington Bridge on 102 Avenue between 132 Street and 130 Street in the Glenora neighbourhood. This project is expected to take approximately 16 months and will result in the full closure of 102 Avenue.
While 102 Avenue is completely closed, Route 2 will be on detour via 124 Street, 107 Avenue, and 142 Street, serving all stops along its detour route. Riders can access transit on 124 Street or 142 Street or use temporary On Demand Transit service to either of these corridors from select bus stops along 102 Avenue.
Dedicated Accessible Transit Service (DATS) clients in Glenora will still be able to access door to door service.
Until spring 2026, crews will be working to replace the concourse to street-level escalator at Central Station. Please use the stairs or elevator to access/leave the station during this time.
When the LRT is experiencing difficulties due to unforeseen circumstances and may be unable to provide service to every stop, ETS provides replacement service with buses to ensure riders are still able to reach their destination.
The following information is meant to assist passengers when using LRT replacement service. Replacement service often takes the same routes, but accidents, detours and other obstacles may cause the Bus Replacement Service routes to change.
When searching for the correct stop to wait at when replacement service is in place, look for the bus stop signs that list "LRT Replacement".
The buses will also say LRT Replacement Service, followed by the final destination (such as Century Park, Downtown, Clareview, NAIT).

ETS Cold Weather service comes into effect when commuters are faced with extreme winter weather. We define extreme weather conditions as -20 Celsius including windchill.
When temperatures reach -20 celsius, ETS buses no longer kneel to prevent buses from freezing in the kneeling position, thus putting the bus out of service and requiring a replacement bus.

ETS Express buses, except for routes 31, 130X, 560, 700X, 747, 900X, 920X are instructed to stop for riders at all bus stops on their routes in extreme weather conditions (colder than minus 20 degrees Celsius, including windchill).
The decision to stop at all bus stops is made by the ETS Control Centre on an ‘as required’ basis.
Please dress for the weather, as buses are part of the traffic flow and are affected by road and weather conditions too.
