A Contractor wishing to apply a pesticide on behalf of the City of Edmonton must first complete the Contractor Pesticide Use Notification and receive acceptance for your intended application from your City of Edmonton Contract or Project Manager.

A Contractor wishing to apply pesticide under conversation with Development Inspections must first complete the Contractor Pesticide Use Notification and receive acceptance for your intended application from your City of Edmonton Senior Landscape Specialist for Private Development.  

All requirements are indicated within the Contractor’s Environmental Responsibility Package, May 2022 version. Please note, this process applies only to the area you are specifically contracted to manage by the City of Edmonton, and cannot be extended past that area into privately owned property or other lands directly maintained for pest control by the City of Edmonton.

Notification must be sent at least 48 hours (not including weekends and holidays) prior to the planned application, and must be acknowledged with an email response from your City of Edmonton Contract Manager, Project Manager, or your City of Edmonton Senior Landscape Specialist for Private Development as confirmation before conducting the treatment.

The Use of this Contractor Notification form applies to the application of all pesticides, as defined in  IPM Policy C501A , and includes but is not limited to herbicides, rodenticides, fungicides, insecticides, animal and insect and rodent control devices.

All spills and releases of pesticides and pesticide incidents must be reported to the City of Edmonton, as outlined in the Contractor’s Environmental Responsibility Package, May 2022 version, in addition to the reporting obligations you have to the Federal and Provincial regulators.

Completing this step will confirm if your planned application falls within a Pesticide Exemption area.   Before submitting this form, please ensure that the information is correct, and submit one form for each application with a distinct location. The intended area and planned pesticide application will be publically available.

This information will be forwarded to your City of Edmonton Contract Manager, Project Manager, or your City of Edmonton Senior Landscape Specialist for Private Development who will provide confirmation for the planned application to proceed.

Before proceeding with the application, you must wait for acceptance of your intended application from your City of Edmonton Project Manager, Contract Manager, or City of Edmonton Senior Landscape Specialist for Private Development.  

If you have not heard back within 72 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) of submitting your notification contact your City of Edmonton Contract Manager, Project Manager, or your City of Edmonton Senior Landscape Specialist for Private Development.

Step 2 Wait for Acceptance of your Planned Application 

Completing Step 1 will initiate the process to confirm if your planned application falls within a Pesticide Exemption area.   

This information will be forwarded to your City of Edmonton Contract Manager, Project Manager, or City of Edmonton Senior Landscape Specialist for Private Development who will provide you with acceptance of your planned application.

Before proceeding with the application, you must wait for acceptance of your intended application from your City of Edmonton Project Manager, Contract Manager, or City of Edmonton Senior Landscape Specialist for Private Development. 

Step 3 Post Application Data Submission Form

Within 48 hours, following completion of treatment, please provide a copy of your pesticide application data using this form.

Before submitting this form, please ensure that the information is correct and that you have entered the applicable Application Notification Reference Number from the Pesticide Use Notification for which you are submitting application data. Submit one form for each application.
