Jo-Anne Wright is a born and raised Edmontonian and longtime resident of Edmonton's southeast. She has been a lifelong community builder, volunteering her time to local organizations including the Meadows Community League board. Jo-Anne holds a Bachelor of Human Resources and Labour Relations degree, and spent the majority of her career working in the financial services industry prior to being elected. This is Jo-Anne’s second term as the city councillor for Ward Sspomitapi after first being elected in 2021.

Jo-Anne is committed to connecting with Ward Sspomitapi residents in order to share their perspectives at City Council. An active participant at community events both in and out of the ward, she enjoys continuously learning about the various organizations and cultures that make up our diverse community. Jo-Anne Wright is honoured to serve as a City Councillor representing Edmonton’s southeast and continue her work building strong communities.

Name Meaning: Sspomitapi means star person and was given in honour of the Iron Creek Meteorite or the Manitou Stone.
