Public engagement is an important part of being on City Council. Some may say engaging the public is the number one job of City Councillors.

There are many ways citizens can engage with City Council:

Office of the City Clerk

The Office of the City Clerk oversees the legislative process and administers formal City Council business.

The Office of the City Clerk is also responsible for one of the City’s biggest regular public engagement efforts – elections (every 4 years).

City Vision and Strategic Plan

City Council has approved guiding documents that set the long-term course for Edmonton. This vision and strategic plan are the foundation for many discussions on more specific City projects, programs and services. These are the content of many public engagement activities.
