Ward sipiwiyiniwak - Thu Parmar

Thu joins City Council from her previous role as vice president of the Canadian Red Cross for Alberta and Northwest Territories. In addition to working in the healthcare industry, she has been a pharmacist for 21 years and worked for the Government of Alberta for eight years.

Thu has been an active community volunteer. She has served in numerous roles on local boards, including president of Cameron Heights Community League, west Edmonton district representative for the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues and the Whitemud West Hockey Association.

Thu has a wealth of experience with business, community-building and all levels of government. She is excited to pair her experience with her passion for building strong communities to make Edmonton the best city to live, work and play. She is also a dedicated Oilers fan.

This is Thu’s first term on Council, and she is excited to work with the newly elected councillors and representing the residents of Ward sipiwiyiniwak for the next four years.
