Ward Anirniq Councillor Erin Rutherford

Profile for City of Edmonton Anirniq Ward Councillor.

Erin was born and raised in Alberta and has lived in Edmonton for more than 25 years. She currently resides in Ward Anirniq.

With 15 years of experience in the public sector, Erin has worked hard to drive change with and for the community. Her career before joining Council focused on building strong neighbourhoods and working with diverse communities. Erin has worked on numerous projects including positive child and youth development, seniors supports, housing and homelessness. She also led a team dedicated to addressing local challenges.

Erin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Human Geography as well as a Master’s degree in Community Development. Her community involvement includes several volunteer board positions, including fundraising, program and social chair.

In her first term, Erin was the Council-appointed advisor for REACH (Edmonton’s Safety Council), the Women’s Advisory Voice of Edmonton, the ETS Advisory Board, the Canadian Urban Transit Association and the Mayor’s Task Force on Housing and Homelessness.

Erin is proud to serve the people of Ward Anirniq for a second term and looks forward to working alongside others to make a positive impact.
