The City of Edmonton's Indigenous Relations Office (IRO) supports Indigenous History Month by promoting events and activities happening in and around the city throughout June.
Every June, many organizations, agencies, and communities host a variety of events that strengthen the community through learning, understanding, and celebration of Indigenous histories, heritage, diversity, cultures and people. Check out the resources below for other learning and cultural enrichment opportunities all year long.

Voices on the Rise: Film Screening and Discussion |
Join us at the Whitemud Crossing Branch Theatre (145 Whitemud Crossing Shopping Centre, 4211 - 106 Street) as we screen and discuss Eli Hirtle's docuseries Voices on the Rise. Voices on the Rise explores the power of Indigenous languages to revitalize culture and identity. Eli Hirtle is a Nehiyaw filmmaker and curator from the Bigstone Cree Nation in Treaty 8 Territory. Legacy Run 2022: Ride for Awareness |
Come together in solidarity to honor the lives of the 215 children that were found at the Kamloops Indian Residential School. A peaceful memorial convoy of trucks, motorcycles and passenger vehicles will depart River Cree at 10am for the Reynolds Alberta Museum where guest speakers, performances and activities will take place. |
