River Valley trails are swept at the beginning of spring to take any gravel, sand or debris off the paved trails and make them as safe as possible.
Trails are also periodically swept during the spring and summer when there are sections of trail that have too much debris or sand.
River Valley trails are cleared during the winter when snow reaches at least 2.5 cm or 1 inch.
Within 48 hours of a snowfall event, operations staff begin clearing the paved trails within the River Valley. All gravel trails are kept in their natural state during winter.
