King Edward Park has been chosen for alley renewal in 2020 and 2021.

Public Event: November 2019

Thank you to those who were able to join us at the community drop-in event on November 20, 2019. Attendees learned about the alley renewal program and shared feedback on their alley. Input will be summarized in a What We Heard report that will be shared in the winter.

About the Project

Alley renewal involves alley reconstruction and repaving, improvements to surface drainage wherever possible, and upgrading existing alley lighting to LED fixtures. It also includes the opportunity for a local improvement to add alley lighting if property owners are interested.

In order to best facilitate the work, the project team is seeking feedback from affected residents on issues in the existing alley, what they would like improved during reconstruction, and any concerns/limitations they may have during construction.

Pruning and removals will be completed over the winter to make room for construction equipment. Construction timelines and details will be available in the spring, and a notice will be sent to residents between May and October prior to construction starting. Residents can expect their alley to be inaccessible for approximately 4 weeks during construction.
