The new Kathleen Andrews Transit Garage is located in northeast Edmonton on Fort Road and began operating on February 9, 2020. The new garage is home to approximately 300 ETS buses and over 400 City staff who maintain and deliver bus service for Edmontonians. Its innovative and environmentally sustainable features make it one of North America’s leading transit facilities. The LEED Silver certified garage occupies 10 acres of land and accommodates approximately 275 conventional buses as well as infrastructure to support 30 of the City’s 40 new electric buses.

The new garage is named after Edmonton’s first woman transit operator, Kathleen Andrews, who was hired by ETS in 1975 and worked with the City for 23 years.

Construction began on the garage in the summer of 2016 and was completed on time and on budget in late 2019.
