We are committed to improving accessibility of City facilities for everyone. We have developed a system to rank the level of accessibility of our indoor facilities.

Wheelchairs, water chairs and commodes that are listed as available at specific locations are free of charge and available on a first come, first served basis.

Attractions Accessibility Ratings

Rating: Very Good

Very Good: majority of facility is accessible.
For example, entrance, washrooms, and a portion of recreation area are accessible, however, there are some accessibility barriers.

City Arts Centre

Most of the City Arts Centre is accessible.

Commonwealth Stadium

Commonwealth Stadium is wheelchair accessible.
Gates 2, 6, 9, and 11 are wheelchair accessible.
Gates 2, 6 and 9 are accessible via ramp entrance. The accessible drop-off and pick-up location for Dedicated Accessible Transit Service (DATS) and those with approved placards is at Gate 6.
An elevator to enter the stadium is available at Gate 11.
Covered spectator spaces are available for wheelchair users. An attendant and two family covered spaces are available as well. Tickets must be purchased for these seating areas.
Accessible washrooms and family change rooms are also available.

Accessible Parking
During Stadium major events, there are accessible parking stalls on the west side of the Stadium in Lot A, B, and C which are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Locations may be subject to change.

Stadium Major Events - CFL Football Games
Accessible Parking is assigned to season seat holders and can be booked through the Edmonton Elks. There are a limited number of additional stalls available on a first-come, first-served basis. Availability of these spots can vary from game to game. For more information, please call 780-448-3757.

Muttart Conservatory

The Muttart Conservatory is committed to providing the best, easiest access possible to all its exhibits.

Edmonton Valley Zoo

The Edmonton Valley Zoo is committed to ensuring everyone has the opportunity to enjoy all the zoo has to offer.

A great deal of the zoo grounds is wheelchair accessible and walkways inside the zoo are a combination of paved and gravel surfaces. The grounds surrounding the entrance to the zoo include some steeper-than-normal inclines.

The John Janzen Nature Centre is committed to enabling the best possible access to its exhibits.

The Birch Tree and River Loop Trails have sections which may be challenging for those with limited mobility.

John Walter Museum

John Walter Museum is partially accessible.

First House (built in 1875) and Second House (built in 1886) have slight ramps into the buildings, but they may not be able to accommodate all types of wheelchairs.
