Come and be a part of all the exciting activities taking place throughout the year at the Edmonton Valley Zoo. Learn about the animals in their habitats while you play and have fun!
Date: Thursday, August 7, 2025
Time: Doors open at 5pm, Talk starts at 5:30pm, Event ends at 7pm
Cost: Free (zoo admission is not required for this event)
Modern, accredited zoos attend to 3 critical areas: Conservation, Education and Research. Join Dr. Jenna Congdon as she shares her work on developing a research program here at the Edmonton Valley Zoo. Working with Zoo staff, her research is working towards the collective goal of further understanding animal perception, and providing insight regarding enrichment and welfare for the animals in our care.
Hosted in the Wild Neighbors Café in the Zoo’s public plaza, Bird Friendly Coffee-based beverages will be available for purchase. A portion of the drink and snack proceeds go to supporting the Edmonton Valley Zoo’s wildlife education and conservation initiatives.
Seating is limited in the café, but we will work to reserve a chair for you if you RSVP for the event.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Join us on the first Thursday of every month for conservation talks.
