With a wide variety of drop-in swimming programs, you're sure to find something that fits you!

Drop-in programs are included with your Facility Plus or All Facility pass.

Know before you go! Subscribe to facility notifications to be notified about facility closures and service interruptions.

A maximum of 3 children under 8 years must be accompanied into the pool and supervised by a responsible person 15 years and older, preferably a parent or sibling. Keep children within arms reach at all times. Unsupervised children will be asked to leave the pool area.

Program Descriptions

Community Swim - all ages

A swim arranged with area-specific community leagues. A community league membership card is required for entry. Please check at the facility or call your Community League for details.

Deep Water Aquafit - all ages

An aquabelt suspends you so that your whole body gets a total workout. Good for those with joint or injury concerns. Also known as Aquajog. Class length: 1 hour

Exclusive Swim for Persons with Disabilities - all ages

A swim for persons with disabilities and their caregivers/families. This swim is exclusive to the ACT Recreation Centre.

Female Only Swim - all ages

A recreation and leisure swim for females only, and with only female staff on duty.

Locations: Eastglen

Karataquatics - all ages

A hybrid of karate, strength and endurance training. High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) in the water provides an excellent form of cardiovascular and resistance training. This super-efficient, 45-minute class is an ideal workout for water fitness enthusiasts, land athletes looking for a new training modality, individuals who have hit a plateau or anyone with a busy schedule Class length: 1 hour

Kids Area Swim

A recreation swim in a shallow area of the pool designed specifically for younger children

Lane Swim - all ages

A fitness-oriented swim with lanes committed to swimming laps.

Lane Swim, 50m - all ages

A fitness-oriented swim with lanes committed to swimming laps in a 50m pool.

Public Swim - all ages

Recreation and leisure swim.

Shallow Water Aquafit - all ages

A fun and energetic aerobic exercise class that uses the water for resistance. Low to zero impact is easy on bones and joints. A 1-hour class set to music and taught by certified instructors. Work at your own pace, no swimming skills required. Class length: 1 hour

Swim Training - all ages

Certified Swim Coaches will help you to achieve your fitness and/or triathlon training goals by improving your technique, speed and endurance. Participants should be able to swim 200 meters comfortably.

Teen Swim - 13-17 years

A recreation swim for youth ages 13-17 years

Location: Terwillegar

Water Works - all ages

For people with muscle, joint or mobility problems. A trained instructor teaches soothing, slow movements in the pool, all accompanied by soft music. Relieve stiffness, increase flexibility, and restore or maintain muscle strength. It is safe and easy, and perfect for arthritis or fibromyalgia sufferers. Class length: 1 hour

Water Walking / Jogging

This self-directed, low impact cardiovascular workout is designed to help maintain good
posture and core strength. 1 hour of designated pool space provides the flexibility
for you to work out at your own pace using the water as resistance, which
decreases the impact on bones and joint. This drop in session does not require previous
swimming skills.

Width Swim - all ages

Swimming laps across the width of the pool. (Usually scheduled at the same time as an activity that requires the full shallow or deep ends of the pool).
