Visioning Workshop - June 2019

Building a Community Vision Together

The community is invited to a Visioning Workshop to develop and build a vision and guiding principles for the neighbourhood.

Date: Tuesday June 25, 2019
Location: Calder Community League, 12721 120 Street NW
Time: 4:30-6:30pm
Light refreshments and a children's activity will be available (unsupervised).

As a Calder property owner or resident, your input helps us understand what is important to you and what changes you might like to see in the neighbourhood.

Together, Building Great Neighbourhoods and Neighbourhood Services will support residents to create a neighbourhood vision that reflects the social, recreational, economic and infrastructural future of the community.

Calder Community Engagement Advisory Group

As part of our mission to develop a relationship with residents and community members, we formed a Community Engagement Advisory Group (CEAG) to reflect the diverse makeup of the community, help refine the City’s approach to engagement throughout the project, and ensure that people know their input is heard and valued.

Learn more about the Calder CEAG and its role in the public engagement process. To become a member of the CEAG, please contact the Planning and Design Project Manager at Laura.Shewchuk@edmonton.ca or 780-944-0728.

About the Project

The Neighbourhood Renewal program will rehabilitate roads, replace street lights, curbs and gutters, repair sidewalks, and connect missing sidewalk links where possible. Other opportunities to improve parks and public spaces will also be explored.

Cost sharing opportunities will be made available through the Local Improvement process for sidewalk reconstruction and decorative street light upgrades in the neighbourhood. Arterial roads and alleys are not included in the scope of work.

A series of public events will be scheduled by the project team which will give residents the opportunity to build a project vision and guiding principles together and provide regular feedback on the different stages of the project including design.

Please watch your mailbox for correspondence from Building Great Neighbourhoods and Open Spaces about the Calder Neighbourhood Renewal Project. You may also sign up to the project’s mailing list to receive regular updates.
