Public Engagement creates opportunities for people to contribute to decision-making by City Council and Administration about the City’s policies, programs, projects, and services and communicates how public input is collected and used.
Public engagement activities at the City of Edmonton fall within 4 categories: Advise, Refine, Create, and Decide, and follow a 6-step process. The size and scope of a project or initiative determine the level of public input.
The City hosts in-person and online information sessions, workshops and pop-ups for a variety of projects throughout the year. Check out the public engagement calendar to view all active and upcoming opportunities.
City Council encourages your participation and knows the value of a healthy dialogue between government and its citizens. Public hearings and community meetings allow Council to canvas a broad segment of the community. Everyone is welcome to attend, and residents can request to speak on a specific item on a Council or Committee meeting agenda.
