Mandate
Assists Council in fulfilling its responsibilities by reviewing reports from the City Auditor, external auditor and Administration relating to financial statements, enterprise risk management, internal controls, fraud, misconduct and policy compliance. The City Auditor's reports focus on compliance, controls, efficiency, effectiveness and economy of City operations.

Citizen Members
Audit Committee includes two citizens with extensive background in financial accountability in large organizations. Citizen members of Audit Committee can serve a maximum of eight years.
Chris Burrows holds Bachelor degrees in Science and Commerce from the University of Alberta, a Master of Accounting degree from the University of Saskatchewan, and a Master of Arts degree from Gonzaga University. He is a Chartered Accountant, a Certified Professional in Human Resources and is an accredited ICD.D director by the Institute of Corporate Directors.
McDonald Madamombe is an Institute of Corporate Directors, Director (ICD.D) and graduate of the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, Directors Education program, a Chartered Professional Accountant, a Chartered Accountant in England & Wales and holds several other certifications. His Honours Bachelor of Accounting Science degree is from the University of South Africa and his Master of Business Administration degree is from the University of Manchester, England.

Statutory meetings, which hear from members of the public related to land use and taxation bylaws and charter bylaws.

Description/Purpose

The LRT Governance Board has completed its mandate and held its final meeting on April 14, 2016. The LRT Governance Board Bylaw expired on May 5, 2016.
Mandate
The LRT Governance Board’s mandate was to approve the terms of the City’s RFP, including the form and content of the P3 Agreement for the LRT project.
Description/Purpose
The LRT Governance Board provided oversight of the Light Rail Public Transportation System project in Edmonton. This means the procurement, development, design and construction of the Southeast and West LRT.
