From crafts to plants to animal encounters, we've got unique packages to make your next birthday party unforgettable.

Birthday parties are a snap at City of Edmonton attractions. Each themed program is led by experienced staff that will engage, delight and entertain your guests. We also offer do-it-yourself options to create your own magic.

Please submit your party booking at least 4-6 weeks in advance. Bookings are processed in the order they are received. Payment for the program must be made at the time of booking.

Birthday party packages are available at the following locations:

City Arts Centre Birthday Packages

Explore your creative side with friends and family by booking a birthday party package at the City Arts Centre.

Location: 10942 83 Avenue

Dance Party (Ages 4-12)

Is your child having a birthday and do they love to dance? If so, we have the perfect dance party package for you. Spend one hour moving and learning new dance moves to the birthday guests' favourite music. Have fun learning choreography provided by a qualified dance instructor.

Program Length: 1 hour plus 1 hour room rental ($225)

Recommended Age: This party is best for participants ages 4-12 years

Maximum Party Size: 20 party participants with maximum group size of 25 people including parents and siblings

Available: Tuesdays 11am-4pm, Wednesdays 1-6pm, Thursdays 3-6pm and Fridays 1-4pm

Clay Party (Ages 6-12)

Book your birthday with the City Arts Centre and every participant will build their own clay project. Then it's time for cake and presents! Party guests will be able to build a mug, a bowl or a planter with their choice of animal theme.

Program Length: 1.5 hours plus 1 hour room rental ($295)

Recommended Age: This party is best for participants ages 6-12 years

Maximum Party Size: 12 party participants with maximum group size of 24 people including parents and siblings

Available: Saturdays and Sundays, 10am-4pm

Clay Birthday Parties Information Package

Painting Party (Ages 6-14)

Do you have a budding artist having a birthday this year? Every participant will paint their own canvas bag, then it's time for cake and presents! Party guests will paint a flower, butterfly or abstract themed canvas tote to take home. This perfect painting party package will allow guests to spend one hour learning new painting techniques provided by a qualified art instructor.

Program Length: 1 hour plus 1 hour room rental ($225)

Recommended Age: This party is best for participants ages 6-14 years

Maximum Party Size: 15 party participants with maximum group size of 20 people including parents and siblings

Available: Saturdays and Sundays 1-4pm

Muffin Decorating Party (Ages 7-15)

Book a party with City Arts Centre filled with sprinkles, buttercream icing and edible cupcakes you and your guests can learn to decorate. We provide all the ingredients for an amazing party including cupcakes, decorating supplies and cupcake boxes. Become a culinary connoisseur in this themed cupcake decorating party.

Program Length: 1 hour plus 1 hour room rental ($275)

Edmonton Valley Zoo Birthday Packages

You'll have a wild time at the zoo with our themed birthday parties! Meet some of our smaller zoo animals, tour the zoo, have outdoor adventures and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Extreme Animals Party (Ages 4-9)

Spend your birthday traveling around the world without ever leaving the zoo. Visit a number of our exciting animals and learn all about what makes them extreme! Maybe their habitat is sizzling hot or soaking wet, or they have an ability or adaptation that is out of this world. During the program, you’ll even have the chance to meet an animal up-close and learn about what makes it super cool. Get ready for an extremely fun time!

Program Length:

2.5 hour party package (includes 1 hour room rental)
Maximum 25 participants per party (up to 20 children, 5 adults). Total number includes all children, parents, and siblings. At least two adults must stay with the children to assist with supervision for the entire program.

Animal Architects Party (Ages 4-12)

Do you have what it takes to be the next Michelangelo? Let’s find out together as you and your guests let loose your inner sculptors and build your own zoo masterpiece out of LEGO® bricks! Tour part of the zoo and visit some of our inspiring residents big and small, and meet an animal up close in hopes of sparking your imaginations and finding your muse. Afterwards, you will all head back to the party room to challenge yourselves in creating the next LEGO® brick sensation!

Please note: the LEGO® pieces used during the party will not be taken home by participants in an effort to be environmentally friendly.

Zoo Safari Party (Ages 4-12)

Put on your safari hat - we are heading out on a grand adventure! During this 'zoo-mazing' adventure you will get close to the animals of the zoo with a guided tour of parts of the facility as well as an up-close encounter. Learn some fun facts about the animals that call the zoo home and have a howlin' safari style birthday.

John Janzen Nature Centre Birthday Packages

Celebrate the wonders of nature with your family and friends on your special day.

Nature Play Party (Ages 3-5 & Adults)

Get ready to play! We’ll use our senses to discover what life is like for nature’s smallest creatures. We’ll peek inside a beehive, search for bugs and create a critter of our own to take home. This program includes up to 45 minutes of playtime in our nature-themed indoor playground.

1.5 hours plus 1 hour room rental
Maximum group size is 15 children (including siblings) plus 15 adults (a minimum of 4 adults must stay during program). Adults must stay with children during the program.

Dinosaur Adventure Party (Ages 4-8)

Welcome to your dino-mite birthday party! We’ll have a roaring good time as we handle real fossils, make a craft with our own claws and solve some gigantic mysteries about our prehistoric pals.

Fairy and Folklore Party (Ages 4-8)

Let’s jump in and explore the myths of the forest! Try on a pair of magical wings and discover which plants and animals are a fairy’s best friend. We’ll go on nature walk to look for signs of fairies and nature sprites, make a craft to bring home and have a whimsical time playing games.

Bug Mania Party (Ages 6-11)

Our friendly Nature Centre bugs are throwing a party and you’re invited! We’ll go exploring to find out who lives nearby, create our own critter to take home and meet some bug eating animals while we’re at it.

John Walter Museum Birthday Packages

Throw a party that will go down in history! Our pioneer-themed birthday parties will have you baking on a wood-burning stove, making fun crafts and having a good ol' time.

Location: 9180 Walterdale Hill (north side of Kinsmen parking lot)

Preschool Pioneer Party (Ages 4-5)

Children will have a great old time trying on old-fashioned costumes and playing party games of yesterday. They'll bake delicious cookies (gingersnap or sugar), make a craft (beeswax candle or puppets) and try their hand at pioneer chores such as washing Mr. Walter's wool socks or carding wool.

Christmas Birthday Party (Ages 5-13)

Enjoy a unique party for your child’s holiday birthday. Bake some goodies on the wood burning stove and play old-fashioned games. Discover what Christmas was like for the Walter family and make your own holiday craft to take home.

Pioneer Birthday Party (Ages 6-13)

Jump back in time and throw a party that goes down in history! Make a sweet treat, build an old fashioned toy and play some games from the past.

Tea Party (Ages 6-13)

Join us for a tea party to celebrate your birthday! Party like it’s 1901 and learn about tea traditions from around the world. We’ll make a sweet treat, mind our manners as we play some games, and dress-up for a fancy lemonade tea party. You’re sure to have a tea-riffic time!

Party under the pyramids! A unique birthday awaits you at the Muttart Conservatory — it will be a day your guests won’t forget!

Little Sprouts Party (Ages 4-5)

Spend your birthday discovering plants the preschool way. Search for leaf shapes and colours, and try to match a few leaf textures, too. Take a jungle trek through the tropical pyramid to find the biggest trees, and travel through the desert to find the prickliest plants. Then play some games, make a craft, and pot a plant to take home.

Little Ladybugs and Friends Party (Ages 4-10)

Celebrate your birthday and learn all about ladybugs and other cool insects that help our gardens grow! We’ll play games, make a ladybug craft and take home a plant that we pot ourselves! To add some extra excitement, guests will get a chance to release some real beneficial bugs into one of the pyramids. You’ll be seeing spots after this delightful and unique party.

Note: This program cannot guarantee live ladybugs due to supply shortages.

Birthday Information Package

A Bloomin' Great Birthday (Ages 6-11)

Have a “blooming” great birthday no matter the weather by taking a journey through the jungle and a dance through the desert. In each of the pyramids, your party guests will participate in exciting activities and explore the beauty of plants from around the world. To top off a terrific party, each guest will get to pot their very own plant to take home.

Cancellation Policy

You are required to provide written notice of cancellation of the birthday party by emailing artsattractionsbookings@edmonton.ca.
Programs cancelled with 30 days notice or more will not be charged the program fee or cancellation fee
Programs cancelled with 8-29 days notice are subject to be charged 50% of the program fee
Programs cancelled with 7 days' notice or less, the full program fee will be charged
Programs run rain or shine. In the event of poor weather, you must email artsattractionsbookings@edmonton.ca if you are not coming
