Outdoor Pools Opening Soon!

Outdoor pools are scheduled to open on the following dates, weather and air quality permitting:

Mill Creek: May 23
Queen Elizabeth: May 30
Fred Broadstock: June 6
Borden Natural Swimming Pool: June 20

Have a blast with your family and friends this summer at the Mill Creek outdoor pool, located just off Whyte Avenue in Mill Creek Ravine. Features include picnic tables and a large tanning area set against the picturesque backdrop of nature.

Admission and Memberships

Outdoor Pools are Value type admission except for Aquafit classes and Swim Training, which are Benefit Plus programs.

Admission to these pools is included with all City of Edmonton Recreation Centre memberships, including the Summer Child & Youth Pass.

Pool Status and Closures

Closures of outdoor pools are determined by temperature (below 18 °C), air quality (monitored by 4 stations across the City), extreme weather (stormy, heavy rain, lightning or thunder), and bookings.

Amenities

L-Shape swimming pool offers 40 metres of aquatic activity space
Zero-depth entry enhances accessibility for all pool users by providing a gradual entry into the pool (to a depth of 2.5 metres)
Inclusive change rooms and washrooms
- Please use the gendered washroom and change room that closely aligns with your personal identity. No bare bottoms in pool.

Food and Beverage Guidelines

Patrons may bring in unopened, factory-sealed beverages only. Opened or unsealed beverages are not allowed into the facility and customers will be asked to dump out any unsealed beverages (including coffee mugs). Exceptions can be made for customers who are feeding infants onsite, or for customers with medical needs.
Alcoholic beverages are not allowed
Patrons may bring in their own food
Glass containers or bottles are not permitted in the facility
Water fill stations are available to fill water bottles
