The City removes snow and ice from roads while citizens and businesses clear their sidewalks to ensure safe conditions and mobility for everyone.

The City maintains all roadways including freeways, main roads, bus routes, bike routes, residential and alleys throughout the winter.
Bans can be declared between November 5 and March 15 with 8 hours notice. Don't park on a plowed bus route until the ban has been officially lifted.
Please clear sidewalks around your property as soon as possible to keep everyone moving safely.
Get the facts about the City's anti-icing pilot.
Snow doesn’t have to mean the end of bike season. When riding your bike in the winter plan ahead to keep warm and safe.

Service changes take effect in temperatures below -20 Celsius, including windchill.

Help our collectors stay safe around ice and snow.

Snow removed from roads is taken to one of Edmonton's snow storage facilities.
