Pets bring a community to life and are an important part of many Edmonton families. Pet ownership is regulated under the Animal Licensing and Control Bylaw and the City of Edmonton's Animal Care & Control Centre works with pet owners to help ensure pets are a positive addition to the community.

The Found Pets Search is a public database of the dogs, cats and small pets currently being held for safe-keeping at the Animal Care & Control Centre.

Pet ownership comes with significant commitments — to your pet, your family and your community.

Enjoy the privilege of walking your dog in one of Edmonton’s 40 off leash sites.

Your cat's licence now includes a microchip.  Call 311 to book an appointment.

The Barn Buddy Program is now accepting applications. 

Pet licences are affordable, available online and ensure that the City can contact you if we find your pet.
