Refused

The Mezzo Tower (10506 81 Avenue NW)

A planning application (map) has been refused for a property at 10506 81 Avenue NW, known as the Mezzo Tower.

This application proposed to revise the affordable housing contribution clause in the existing DC2 zoning for the site. The existing DC2 provision requires the developer to work with a private charity to provide the affordable housing. The proposed revision, which was refused by Council, would have allowed the developer to explore other options for providing the required affordable housing contribution.

The existing DC2 Provision for the site, which allows for a high-rise, high-density mixed-use tower, remains in effect as approved by City Council on May 20, 2016, Agenda Item 5.4, Bylaw 17621.
