About the Project Area

The project includes the widening of Fort Road to six lanes from Yellowhead Trail to 66 Street, with widening of the CN Rail underpass. The clearance at the CN Rail underpass will also be increased by lowering Fort Road.

Additional improvements include:

  • A new shared-use path on the west side of Fort Road
  • A new sidewalk on the east side
  • A new roadway connecting 66 Street to Fort Road, south of the CN Rail line

Where We Are Now

Concept plans have been developed for the widening of Fort Road and design is scheduled to begin in early 2019.
