Complete the form to request request signage and tools to promote safe speeds at your school.

These resources include:

Community signage and centreline signs to remind drivers to slow down and show safe streets are important to your school.
Portable Driver Feedback Signs to alert drivers to their current speed and encourage them to slow down and drive the speed limit.
Automated enforcement at playground zones, approved sites only. View the Safe Streets Map to see if the playground zone at your school is an approved site.

This form must be filled out by a school administrator or teacher who is a current employee of Edmonton Public School Board (EPSB), Edmonton Catholic School Division (ECSD) or Conseil Scolaire Centre-Nord (CSCN).

Centreline Signage

If your school is interested in centreline signage, please complete this section. These signs remind road users to slow down and look out for each other and reinforce that the school is encouraging safe road behaviours.

Community Lawn Signs

Lawn signs can be placed on your school's boulevard and at other priority street locations where speeding is a concern, such as near crosswalks, or where you feel the message is most needed.

Please note, signs placed on public road space such as boulevards will need to follow City of Edmonton Lawn Sign Guidelines. These guidelines can also help you determine the locations to place your signs that will get the most attention and have the largest impact.

Portable Driver Feedback Signs

Portable driver feedback signs alert drivers to their current speed and encourage them to slow down if they are traveling above the speed limit. These signs reduce vehicle speeds and collisions and let drivers know that safe streets are important around your school. Signs can be placed at a City-approved location near your school for a period of two weeks.

Automated Enforcement

The City uses automated traffic enforcement in combination with other traffic safety programs to make our streets safer for everyone.

The City may be able to schedule additional automated enforcement near your school if you have noticed speeding concerns. This is only possible if there is a previously approved automated enforcement site along the street where speeding concerns have been observed. Enforcement locations are established based on provincial guidelines, and new sites cannot be added at this time due to a moratorium in place by the Government of Alberta.
