Project Overview
The existing Muttart Conservatory storage building, located south of the conservatory greenhouses, must be demolished to allow for the construction of the Valley Line LRT.
When determining a location for the new storage building, the City considered how best to accommodate a like-for-like storage building, associated parking, and delivery truck access requirements to meet the delivery needs of the Muttart Conservatory greenhouses.
The final building location was shifted to the southwest so as not to affect a future park access road and shared-use path between the greenhouses and the storage building.
The site footprint was reduced from 4340 m2 at the existing site to 2595 m2. The outdoor parking/loading/turnaround area is 860 m2, smaller than the original 1490 m2 lot.
