The Urban Design Awards celebrate the best new projects in Edmonton. Through the program, we recognize individuals, organizations, firms and projects that have contributed to urban design and the City's quality of life.
This year's competition has now closed. We've received 58 entries, from bike racks to buildings, and we look forward to showcasing all of them over the next few months. Thank you to all those who were involved in their design and construction. You can view them all on our submissions page.
The winners of this year’s Urban Design Awards will be revealed Friday November 15, 2019 at City Hall. For the first time, a limited number of tickets are available to the public. Come celebrate the urban design and architectural projects that have transformed Edmonton’s spaces and places over the last two years. All 58 project teams will be in attendance, as well as Edmonton’s key design influencers. The winners have been selected by both a national jury panel and a public vote.
To attend, register now at urbandesignawards.eventbrite.ca.
This is not an open event. You must be registered in order to attend.
The event starts at 7pm in City Hall Room. Light bites and refreshments will be served.
About the Winning Projects
This year’s winners won’t be announced until the awards reception on Friday November 15, 2019.
In the meantime, you can view all of the submissions here. The national jury panel completed their deliberations on October 4th, 2019. Winners were chosen from across 7 categories. At the end of their deliberations, the panel participated in a public presentation — where Edmontonians had a chance to hear their thoughts on why design matters, and why it’s good for community and investment.
By winning their municipal award, this year’s winners will be eligible for the National Urban Design Awards. They will go on to represent Edmonton, and compete with other projects from across the country.
