Effective September 10, mask exemptions within the City of Edmonton's Missing file.  have been amended to better align with the provincial public health order issued by Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health.

Edmontonians, and those visiting Edmonton, are expected to follow the requirements of the bylaw in addition to any provincial health orders in effect. Everyone is encouraged to review both the updated bylaw and the province’s public health order to ensure safety measures and masking requirements are met in full within Edmonton city limits.

See more information about masking and other public health orders at alberta.ca/covid-19.

Wearing masks or face coverings is a community effort for those who can. Within Edmonton city limits, masks or face coverings are mandatory in all indoor public places and public vehicles. This applies to businesses, workplaces, retail shops, City of Edmonton facilities, and includes public transit vehicles, enclosed transit centres and LRT platforms.

Our goal is to protect Edmontonians from COVID-19. Wearing a mask will help do that. If in doubt, wear a mask or face covering.

Where possible, consider giving yourself and each other 2 metres of distance. Please use hand sanitizers provided and cover your coughs/sneezes.

Please stay at home if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and follow all Government of Alberta requirements for isolation if you are experiencing symptoms.
