ETS Route 747 is suspended for use by all airline travellers. However, bus service marked "Special" is available for all other passengers at Route 747 stops. It serves the Edmonton International Airport, nearby outlet mall and regional area. This adjustment is in response to COVID-19 guidelines.

Who can use Route 747 service (as of May 13, 2020)

Route 747 remains in place as a charter service for all passengers, with the exception of airline travellers. Look for the bus marked ‘Special’ rather than 747. This service adjustment will ensure the provincial government’s direction of self-isolation for airline travellers is followed.

How will the operator know the rider is a regular passenger vs. an airline traveller?

Anyone carrying travel luggage will be presumed to be a traveller and not allowed to board the ETS bus.

Your trip planner says Route 747 is operating as usual, why can’t I take transit for an airline trip?

We realize this is a major inconvenience, but we’re doing our best to protect the public. The government has put strict regulations in place for travellers regarding self-isolation. You will need to make alternative arrangements for transportation such as taxi and ride share services (Taxi stands are located at Century Park and at the airport).

How long will Route 747 be suspended for all airline travellers?

We don’t have a timeframe at this point. Until further notice.

Why do you have buses with luggage racks if I can’t use the service for a plane trip?

Only a select few ETS buses are highway certified so we have kept using the buses with luggage racks.

Do people need to wear masks on Route 747?
  • We can keep each other safe and healthy by following a few simple steps. Wearing a mask or face covering is highly encouraged, physically distance yourself from others, consider travelling during off peak times and continue to follow AHS guidelines
  • Bus shields and LRT cabs provide excellent protection, so Operators don’t need to wear masks when in a shielded area. However, Operators and other public facing transit employees will wear masks when going into public areas

I see the Route 747 passes stops after Century Park transit centre but doesn't stop at them. Why?

To provide the best experience possible for the intention of this service (direction connection between the transit centre and EIA), the service is kept separate from regular ETS service and is subject to its own fares.

Customers wishing to transfer to local service, including other buses and the LRT, are invited to do so at Century Park provided they pay the ETS fare. Fares on the Route 747 and ETS are not transferable between each other.
