Starting June 15, 2020, ETS will resume fare collection on buses, LRT and DATS. Customers should board the bus through the front door starting June 15.
Wear non-medical masks or face coverings when using public transit, or in other locations where physical distancing is not possible.
Please make sure you dispose of your used disposable masks and/or gloves into a waste bin. If one is not available, store your used materials in a plastic bag until they can be disposed of properly.
Edmonton Transit Service is offering eligible essential service health care workers one-way trips between 10pm and 1am. Our latest AHS pickups are at 12:30am. This is to supplement the recent adjustments to LRT and Late Night Owl bus service.
The one-way transit to or from six medical locations is for essential health care workers who previously relied on the late night service that was adjusted on April 20:
- Misericordia Community Hospital
- Grey Nuns Community Hospital
- Royal Alexandra Hospital
- University of Alberta Hospital / Stollery Children's Hospital / Cross Cancer Institute
- Northeast Community Health Centre
- East Edmonton Health Centre
Pick-ups at these facilities will be booked in half hour time slots (for example 10:45, 11:15...). Door to door service is provided through DATS.

- Based on survey data as of April 22, nearly 85% of respondents indicate they work at a hospital or health care facility. This means working directly with AHS (and Covenant Health) on alternative transportation solutions for late evening shifts should meet the needs of the majority of essential workers
- We continually evaluate the effectiveness of our decisions and have asked for feedback from passengers on the impacts of late night service changes via 311 and an online survey that ran between April 18 and May 4
- We are offering the Late Night supplement service for health care workers at these six sites. Demand is anticipated to be highest at these locations based on feedback from the online customer survey and AHS
- Over 40 bus routes still provide late night service as well
- Customers who might be impacted by these evening service hour reductions may fill out an online survey or contact 311
- We know the changes may be a challenge for some essential workers on late night shifts. That said, ETS has seen a significant decline of essential workers using very-late night service (midnight to 3am) and moderate declines on late night service (10pm to midnight)
- There are 40 other regular routes, some of which end later than others
