The Every Day Way to Stuff that ETS Bus

Join the ETS Stuff a Bus from December 1-3 in support of Edmonton’s Food Bank and help feed families in our community.

Last year ETS and partners Save-On-Foods, JOE FM, Global TV, and Edmonton Sun stuffed enough buses to feed over 500 Edmonton families for one month.

ETS volunteers will be on-site collecting food donations at Calgary Trail Save-On-Foods on Thursday, December 1 from 8am - 8pm. and at the Namao Save-On-Foods on Friday, December 2 from 8am - 8pm.  On Saturday, December 3 a bus and volunteers will be at each of the 13 Edmonton Save-On-Food locations from 8am - 5pm.  JOE FM will be with us, broadcasting live.

New this year is a corporate and school challenge on Wednesday, November 30. ETS and JOE FM will roam and stop at various Save-On-Foods to collect corporate and school donations 8am - 8pm.

NOTE: Strathcona County Transit will be on location at all Sherwood Park Save-On-Food locations on December 3 from 8am - 5pm.

Take ETS to the City Market

There’s a chill in the air, and the City Market Downtown has moved into its winter home in City Hall.  Here's a quick, easy and weather-proof way to get your weekly market fix.  Catch the LRT.

Saturday service is every 10 minutes.  Trains run from Clareview in the northeast to Century Park in the south.  There's plenty of free parking at Century Park, Clareview, Belvedere and Stadium stations.

Once you're on the train, you don't have to go outside again to get to City Market Downtown.  It's a short walk from Churchill Station through the pedway into City Hall, to your favourite vendor's stall.

City Market Downtown at City Hall is open every Saturday until May 2012.  Hours are 10am - 3pm.  Regular vendors from the popular City Market Downtown on 104th are selling their wares at this location.

ETS Remembrance Day Service

On Remembrance Day, Friday, November 11, ETS will be operating on a reduced weekday service level.

Both AM and PM peak period service levels have been adjusted to address the travel requirements of customers who will be working on Friday.

Transit information is available by calling 311.

The ETS Customer Services Centre, including Lost & Found, will be closed on November 11.

Check the ETS Trip Planner or call BusLink at 780-496-1600 for complete route and schedule details.

It’s Time to Fall Back

It’s time fall to back, as we return to Mountain Standard Time.  Daylight Savings Time ends the first Sunday in November. This year it’s November 6.

Remember to turn your clocks back one hour and enjoy that extra hour of snooze time.

Take ETS to the CFR

This year the Canadian Finals Rodeo rides into Edmonton from November 9 to 13.

With park and ride available from Century Park, rodeo fans have lots of opportunity for fast and convenient service to Rexall Place.  Weekday and Saturday service runs from approximately 5:30am - 1:30am with Sunday and holiday service from approximately 5:30am - 12:30am.

River City Round Up, November 4 - 13, is a 10-day city-wide celebration of Edmonton's agricultural and western heritage. Mark your calendars and get ready to rustle up some fun. Visit www.rivercityroundup.com for a full list of events happening around Edmonton.

Check out the Olde Time Fair on the Square as well.  Come to Churchill Square on Saturday, November 12 from 10am – 3pm and take a trip back in time. Experience a traditional fair with carnival games, square dancing, horse and wagon rides, musicians and more!  You’ll find an extraordinary selection of locally-produced merchandise and fresh produce by the vendors from the popular City Market Downtown.  Visit www.edmonton.ca/oldetimefair for further details.

You’ll also notice that many ETS operators take this opportunity to wear western duds in support of the CFR.

Winter Service Changes

There will be minor changes to ETS service starting Sunday, November 27 as we make adjustments to improve connections between routes and service reliability.

The re-opening of Scona Road has routes  7, 57, 62, 63, 70, 81, 85, 86, and 87 returning to their regular routings and schedules.

New route 195 will provide peak hour service between west Clareview Transit Centre and the neighbourhood of McConachie.

Snow Valley Shuttle Returns

The ETS Snow Valley Shuttle (Route 599) service is back for another season -- as soon as the snow arrives.

Traveling from Century Park Transit Centre to Snow Valley, the service runs on Friday evenings, statutory holidays and major school holidays (Christmas Break, Spring Break and Teacher’s Convention).
