Dawson Bridge Closure and Detour
The City of Edmonton plans to rehabilitate the Dawson Bridge. During construction, the bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic and pedestrians from January 2010 to November 2010.
The repairs are necessary to extend the life of the structure and ensure continued safety of motorists and pedestrians.
During the construction period, Edmonton Transit routes that utilize the Dawson Bridge will be required to detour to the Low Level Bridge. The routes affected by this detour are Routes 1 and 88, plus School Routes 721, 764, and 830.

The Riverdale neighbourhood will be bypassed by Routes 1 and 88 as a result of this bridge closure. To compensate for this loss of service, Route 308 will have its operating hours extended to closely reflect the current operating period of Route 1. Route 308 will cease operation at 10pm each day.
