Route Features
- The South LRT line came to the surface when the new Health Sciences Station was opened in January 2006.
- The first phase of the current extension from Health Sciences to McKernan/Belgravia and South Campus stations opened to revenue service on April 26, 2009.
- The remainder of the South LRT extension includes Southgate and Century Park stations, bringing the 7.8 km extension all the way to Century Park (23 Avenue). These two stations will open April 2010.
- The South LRT includes two LRT underpasses — one under Belgravia Road and one under the southbound lanes of 111 Street near 61 Avenue
- A pedestrian underpass below 114 Street at 76 Avenue.
- Overhead pedestrian walkways at Southgate Station and Century Park Station.
- Two bridges — one connecting Fox Drive to the South Campus Transit Centre and one over Whitemud Drive for the LRT
- A multi-use trail to follow the length of the track.
