Requesting Emergency Assistance

Use one of the following communication devices should you need assistance in an urgent or emergency situation (e.g. report situations such as a lost child, an injured person, a disturbance, or any issue of personal safety).

Blue Emergency Help Phones are located in all LRT stations, in major bus terminals, and in some city pedways. To activate the phone, press the button and you will be connected directly with ETS Safety & Security personnel who will assess your situation and dispatch the appropriate emergency response personnel. When the phone is activated, a surveillance camera is automatically directed to monitor/record the active phone.

Direct Access Phones are located in all LRT stations in the proof-of-payment area. These are conventional payphones with a bottom row of buttons that allow toll-free calls to 911 (Emergency), 611 (Telus Repair & Maintenance), 411 (Local Listings), 0 (Operator), or Transit Security (ETS Control Centre).

Wall-Mounted Red Emergency Buttons are located in several areas in the downtown core, including the entrance to the Winspear Centre, the Winspear pedway, the Edmonton City Centre pedway, and the Westin Hotel pedway. Pushing the button will connect you directly with ETS Safety & Security personnel who will assess your situation and dispatch the appropriate emergency response personnel. When the button is activated, a surveillance camera is automatically directed to monitor/record the area.
