Crime Prevention
The ETS Safety and Security Division strives to provide the best safety and security for our customers, our staff, and the general public. We continuously review our security processes, procedures, and partnerships to ensure safety and security all across our system. We have developed and implemented several innovative programs such as:
-
An intelligence-led deployment model in order to most efficiently deploy our personnel, using occurrence intelligence and statistical analysis. This process allows us to predict, with excellent accuracy, where and when undesirable activity is most likely to occur and deploy our Transit Peace Officers accordingly.
-
A Community Liaison Unit (CLU) that has divided the city into sections and assigned a Transit Peace Officer team to each section. This allows for community concerns to become the focus of a dedicated Transit Peace Officer team who can use their resources/contacts to help address issues or concerns at hand. It also allows the Transit Peace Officer to follow up with the community, ensuring the issue/concern does not arise again in the future.
-
Alliances with EPS school resource officers and school administrators to resolve issues regarding student misconduct on or in relation to the transit system. This liaison has resulted in a more proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.
