Read 'n Ride

Edmonton Transit System (ETS) and the Edmonton Public Library (EPL) are continuing with their ongoing partnership to encourage and promote adult literacy through a series of programs and promotions designed to recognize and reward readers on ETS buses, and enhance the public transit experience. Following the success of the 2005 Read 'n Ride Great Canadian Book Giveaway, the partners began a monthly hunt throughout the transit system from October 2006 to June 2007 for customers reading on ETS buses, "catching" them in the act of reading and rewarding them with free books, library annual memberships, and ETS ticket books. In 2008, book giveaways at several transit centres in the city were met with much success, and an added giveaway location at Churchill Square downtown had people waiting ahead of the event for their chance to receive free books.
We encourage you to continue taking advantage of your travel on ETS and treat yourself to some relaxing uninterrupted reading time. Catch up on daily news, current events, or the latest bestseller.
