BOB - Behaviour on the Bus
The BOB (Behaviour on Buses) program has become a familiar part of Edmonton Transit since its introduction several years ago. The highly recognizable BOB persona has done a wonderful job providing friendly reminders to ETS users about what we can do to make the bus trip more comfortable and pleasant for all. BOB promotes positive bus behaviours, focusing on how all transit users can contribute to a better transit experience for themselves and others.
Edmonton Transit’s BOB (Behaviour on Buses) campaign received the National Transit Corporate Recognition Award for 2006 from the Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA).
BOB continues to evolve and his ‘new look’ was introduced in the Spring of 2008 with an animated version of the BOB character, and with a reminder to everyone that "We're All in This Together".
BOB's No-Brainers on the Bus
- Swearing and offensive language belong inside your head, not on the bus.
- Keep the volume low on music and conversations - cell phones, too.
- Vandalizing the bus is wrong. Always has been, always will be.
- Always pay what you owe. Fare is fair.
- Take a stand for seniors and those less mobile. Offer them your seat.
- Smooth out the ride. Get on board one-at-a-time and "move on back".
- Keep your cool. Pushing, shoving, and bullying isn't.
- Keep it clean. Dirty feet belong on the floor and food and drinks make messy travel partners.
- Make room. Keep your backpack close and remember: 1 person = 1 seat.
- ETS operators are in the driver's seat. Be sure to listen to them at all times.
BOB's No-Brainers on the LRT

- Keep the volume low on music and conversations - cell phones, too.

- LRT Stations and trains are not playgrounds. Jumpin', runnin', throwin', pushin', skatin', bikin', bladin' are not safe in the stations or on the train.
- Fare is fair - Always pay what you owe. Without proof of payment your fair could be $110 (fine for fare evasion).
- Keep your cool. Pushing, shoving, and bullying isn't.
- Keep it clean. Dirty feet belong on the floor and food and drinks make messy travel partners.
- Smooth out the ride. People off before people on, move on down the aisle, keep entrances clear, hang on while the train is moving.
- Make room. Keep your backpack close and remember: 1 person = 1 seat.
- Take a stand for seniors and those less mobile. Offer them your seat.
