Given the importance of Whyte Avenue to residents, businesses and the city overall, it was important to provide many opportunities to engage with Edmontonians to inform the development of planWhyte. The study included 3 phases of public engagement consisting of open houses, workshops, online surveys, pop-up engagement events and stakeholder conversations.

December 13, 2017

On December 13, 2017, the City held its final public open house regarding the planWhyte Land Use Study. The purpose of the open house was to:

  • Provide an update on the project, completed technical studies and what we have heard so far
  • Provide a summary of ongoing project co-ordination between the planWhyte land use study and Centre LRT Study which has identified Whyte Avenue as a future low-floor LRT route
  • Confirm design concepts and policy directions that will shape the long-term future of the Whyte Avenue corridor

Feedback, technical study findings and best practices will be used to complete the planWhyte Land Use Study prior to presentation to Urban Planning Committee in April 2018.

  • Phase 1 to 4 - Stakeholder Discussions
  • Phase 1 - Public Open House Workshop #1
