As a business owner or employee, you can make a difference by volunteering time or resources for a cleaner, safer city.
Create a team of employees or co-workers and adopt a block to combat litter, or clean up a section of Edmonton's river valley. Give non-profit groups a hand by hiring them to pick up litter, or support an artist and fight graffiti by donating a wall.
The Litter Squad initiative matches businesses with non-profits as a unique fundraising activity for non-profits who offer an affordable litter clean up service. By sponsoring your business location(s), you are joining other local businesses who believe keeping Edmonton clean is vital for economic growth, quality of life, and for creating safer communities, all the while giving non-profits a helping hand.
Businesses can register until April 6.
Nonprofits can March 1 - 31.
Each spring, dozens of Edmonton community groups apply for help to get rid of any large, bulky items cluttering up the back alleys, streets or other areas in their neighbourhoods. Under the Community Bin Grant Program, the City offers funds on a first-come, first-served basis that can be used for bin rentals (including the truck, driver and disposal costs) and truck rentals to drive through the area and collect large items.
Capital City Clean Up offers free litter clean up kits to Edmonton residents, businesses and community groups that are looking to pick up litter in their neighbourhood, City or River Valley parks, green spaces and around your business. Registration and litter clean-up kits will be available after March 1, 2018 at these participating locations. Please visit facility pages for location and operating hours before visiting.
Kits will be available until supplies last.
