Pay Property Tax

The City offers many options for paying your property taxes conveniently.

 

About the Service

Property taxes help pay for civic services like police and fire protection, road maintenance and snow clearing, sewers, parks and swimming pools, public transit and neighborhood infrastructure.

All Edmonton residential property owners pay annual property taxes, which are due June 30 each year. Assessment notices are mailed January 2. Tax notices are mailed in late May.

City of Edmonton property taxes are due by June 30.

How Do I Obtain the Service?

You can use the following options to pay your property taxes.  As well you can pay via telephone or online banking (contact your bank for details). 

Note: Please make cheques payable to the City of Edmonton and include the remittance portion of the tax notice.

In Person
  • At participating financial institutions for a nominal charge
  • In person by cheque, money order or debit only - no cash, at Tax Enquiries located at the northwest corner of City Hall, 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday
  • In person by cheque, money order, debit or cash, at HSBC Bank Place located at 5th floor, 10250-101 Street, 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday
  • In Quick Pay Drop Box located at City Hall or Chancery Hall during business hours (cheque or money order only — no cash)
