Over 700 rental units are available including 2 and 3 bedroom townhouses and bachelor, 1 and 2 bedroom apartments. Ask about accessible, barrier-free units if you have special needs.
- 3. How are rents calculated?
Non-profit Units
Each property has a set number of units that must be rented at a set rent, which is lower than the market rent for that area. The remaining units are rented on the basis of rent geared to income. This is established by taking 27% of gross monthly income. If this amount falls below the minimum set rent level, the tenant would then pay the minimum rent. If this amount falls between the minimum and market set rent levels, the tenants would pay 27% of gross income. If 27% of the gross amount is above the market set rent level, the tenants would pay the market rent.
Affordable Units
Fixed rents at least 10% below the market rent for that area.- 4. What is included in the rent?
Apartment complexes include a refrigerator, stove, gas, water and sewer utilities. Electricity costs are the responsibility of the tenant.
Townhouse complexes include a refrigerator, stove, washer and dryer. All utilities are the responsibility of the tenant.
- 5. What is the Capital Region Housing Corporation (CRHC)?
- The Capital Region Housing Corporation provides a subsidized rental program for people with lower incomes who cannot afford rent. Tenants pay rent based on 30% of their income. Phone 780-420-6161.
